no tale for a championship

.

two months ago, our varsity team was probably the weakest team in UM's history; and the weakest i've ever played with. it was so bad, that some players are fundamentally equal (if not less!) to an under-15 kid. that being said, it became a huge burden being the team's go-to-guy. we got our ass kicked so many times in different games that i can't even remember when was the last time we won.

three weeks before the Malaysian University Games 2013, coach decided to drop our ball rotation that actually brought multiple championships years back; and figured a way to play with everyone's unique ability around me. for one thing i know, you can never win a ball game alone.

i grew up playing basketball thinking i can beat 5 defenders on the break until my leg wouldn't give. coach who (said) once had the explosiveness until he tore his ACL, taught me something i think has matured my game a lot: patience. even then, coach still thinks he couldn't take enough credit for how much i've grown. and i cant thank coach enough for what he has done. i was raw when i first came in, and he brought my game to yet another level.

long story short. we did it as a team! and it was one of the teams i really enjoyed playing with. as a point guard, i felt like i did a remarkable job bringing 'such' team to life. and this final tournament of my university life, was simply memorable. (despite some TOs).

the team went as far as winning third place of the tournament and it was definitely something to be proud of. no tale for a championship, but a lifetime story to tell :)
